- This is the oldest Institute of its kind in India. Established formally in 1948, it continued to be only Institute for a long time.
- To become a professional AME one has to obtain the A.M.E. licence issued by the Director General of Civil Aviation in India. Today a career in Aviation is one of the best of modern profession. The demand for trained & highly skilled Aviation personnel has increased and is expected to grow. Aviation being specialised profession, it demands specialised training. The ATTI has a team of highly qualified & experienced professionals to impart training with great care & excellence to the students.
- Total duration of training is recognized by DGCA(Govt. of India) towards practical experience required for appearing in AME licence examination under Aircraft Rules.
- Duration of training is 2 1/2 years Institutional followed by six months practical training in DGCA approved Aviation establishments.
- Availability of seats :- Only 60 seats are approved by DGCA.
- Eligibility :-
The candidates shall have passed minimum 10+2 class with aggregate of 50% marks in physics and mathematics;

or
- a three years diploma in engineering;
- or
- a higher qualification in science with physics and mathematics.
- The trainees shall be subjected to a medical examination before they are admitted to the training institute by a doctor possessing at least an MBBS degree. Candidates shall not have any physical disabilities or colour blindness, which may interfere in discharging the duties as an AME.
- Age Limit :- 17 to 24 years.
